Motorola flip mobile Gleam next in India

The MWC 2011 has witnessed the launch of Motorola’s new flip phone Motorola Gleam. It is a stylish clamshell phone which looks similar to the Motorola RAZR. The Phone is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2011. It is a flip phone without an android or any similar operating system when most of us were expecting a smart phone from Motorola. The price of the phone yet remains unrevealed. It is expected to be a simple middle range phone since there are no big functions and facilities incorporated in it.



The screen of the MOTOROLA GLEAM is 2.4 inches in size with a QVGA display. It looks different and stylish with its external LED dot matrix display which notifies an incoming message or call by a glowing light from the phone’s signaling base. A reasonably good quality two mega pixel camera is present in the MOTOROLA GLEAM. The phone supports 2G network in Dual band GSM 900/1800 MHz frequency range. The wireless connectivity settings include blue tooth 2.1 + EDR with A2DP support. There is a WAP browser for quick internet access and browsing the web. The messaging facilities include SMS, MMS And Email with POP3/IMAP technology. The storage of the phone include 32MB FLASH and 16 MB RAM. Though the internal memory is only 5 MB, it can store up to 800 phone book entries and 500 messages in its inbox. It can expand the external memory up to 16 GB using a micro SD card slot. There is a music player present in the phone which can play songs in different audio format. The user can connect he head phone through a 3.5 mm audio jack. The manufacturers are expecting that Gleam will also be a huge success like Motorola RAZR. The phone is available in lacquer red, graphite gray and a pink-purple color. New Motorola mobiles i786, i706 and i897

Motorola is all set to launch their new mobile phones in India very soon. They are planning to launch three new handsets namely Motorola i786, Motorola i806 and Motorola i897. The exact date and price of the handset are not yet announced.

Motorola i897 is also known to as Ferrari Special Edition. It is a clamshell mobile with numeric keypads and stylish appearance. It is having 2.2 inches with resolution 240x320 pixels. It is also having an additional display with size 1.8 inches and resolution 128x160 pixels. It is also having a camera of 2 mega pixels and features like digital zoom. The media player is good one in this handset. It will support multiple media formats. The connectivity is enabled using Bluetooth and USB. The handset also supports GPS. The handset is compatible with GPRS 800/900. The navigation is using D-pad.



Motorola i786 and Motorola i706 are the other handsets that are available along with this i897. These two handsets are not having anything different from this handset apart from those of the i786 and i706. i786 and i706 are GSM 800/900 based mobile phones with iDEN network technology 800 and 900. The i786 is a clamshell handset with screen size 2.2 inches and resolution of 176x220 pixels. The i706 is having a sliding shaped handset with screen size 1.7 inches. Both handsets are having cameras with 1.3 mega pixels lens. The memory can be expanded in both all the handsets. Reports says that the i786 and i897 comes with built in memory storage space of 180MB.



The Motorola i786 is providing a talk time of 3.14 hours with 1130 mAh battery. It is also providing a standby time of around 100 hours. On the other hand, Motorola i706 is providing a talk time of 4.75 hours battery backup for talking and a stand by time of 100 hours. Finally, in the case of Motorola i897, it is providing a battery backup of 3071 hours and the standby time of 100 hours.

Motorola handsets are always bearing a tough look in the appearance and they are surprisingly loaded with many important features. These three handsets are launching by
aiming at the low end segment in the mobile market. The company being the makers of the 1sthandset in the world has got very much reputation around the world. This is the reason why they are launching low end as well as the high end mobiles.

Motorola Xoom tablet mobile to launch in India

Here comes another addition to the tablet devices launched this year as Motorola launches the all new Motorola Xoom tablet mobile. The rumors about the launch of Xoom were spreading for a while now. The launch is most probably occurring on 24th February It has been shown to the public in the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The cost price is yet to be announced. But it is expected to be some where around $799, a bit more expensive than similar devices available in market now. It will be one of the first Android 3.0 powered devices along with the LG optimus 3D pad.

The screen of the tablet is larger with 10.1 inches size which is similar to iPad and a bit larger than LG optimus Pad. According to Sanjay Jha, Motorola Chief Executive, the device will have high speed 3G connectivity through US carrier called verizon Wireless. But it is also heard that Xoom’s Wi-Fi will be disabled if the user is not subscribing to the One month Data subscription plan with Verizon. He also mentioned about the release of a 4G Xoom which may be launched by the last of this year. These 3G versions of Xoom now available is expected to be upgraded to 4G by then. It will have front and rear cameras. A 2megapixel camera in front and 5 mega pixel camera in back with features like LED flash and digital zoom. It will be multipurpose purpose for uses like picture taking, video calling and video recording. There is also a 1 GHz NVIDIA tegra processor and HD video recording. It can also play Adobe Flash video software. It also comes equipped with features like compass, accelero meter and multi touch input methods.

The features of Motorola Xoom are quite distinguished as already briefed above. There are already enough and more tablet devices in the market right now and many of them are huge successes. iPad has sold over 15 million copies in a year and Galaxy Tab has crossed 2 million mile stones. While many of the features present in Xoom are much better than the iPad, we also have to admit that the cost of Xoom is high. The Galaxy Tab can access thousands of apps available now and the users only need to make sure that those apps are compatible with their device. Though not successful like the above mentioned tablets there are numerous tablet devices released this year like iSlate, OlivePad etc. So the task of Motorola Xoom is not going to be easy in the market. Adding to this LG is also launching its Optimus Pad which has similar features of Xoom. Any way Motorola is hoping that Xoom will help them gain a good market share keeping faith on its high end features.
